VFA URGENT ALERT: Tiger Ranch Rescues Need Homes Before December 31st! PDF Print E-mail

TIGER RANCH SENTENCING AND

IMPORTANT TIGER RANCH RESCUE ADOPTION UPDATE!

***Please forward widely!***
***Tiger Ranch Rescues in need of immediate adoption!***

It was just this past October that we anxiously awaited the sentencing of former Tiger Ranch Cat “Sanctuary” proprietor, Lin Marie, as well as sought to hold accountable local humane law officers responsible for the continual clearance of what was actually a slow kill death camp for cats. (Previous update and call to action can be read here. )

Due to Lin Marie's failure to complete a court-ordered psychiatric evaluation prior to trial last October, sentencing was pushed back yet again for the mental evaluation to take place. This was all a sideline to the fact that evidence of cats at several residences Lin Marie considered home, including Tiger Ranch, was brought to the judge's attention – Lin Marie was in continual direct violation of her bail and, as a result, spent a little over a month in prison, recently being released mid November of last month. The sentencing was postponed, scheduled for December 4th.

Unfortunately, Lin Marie has yet again defied court order and failed to receive the required therapy to follow her psychiatric evaluation, and sentencing has been postponed indefinitely.

We are forced to merely report this update, as our concerns for the ultimate outcome of this trial have been put on hold - there remains important work to be done! The Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has announced that, as of December 31, 2009, the Clarion SPCA will be shutting down for good, giving the brave feline survivors of Tiger Ranch less than a month to find loving homes for the holidays - before they are scattered to other branches of PSPCA shelters across Pennsylvania.

The survivors, however, do not deserve to be carted to yet another shelter – they are comfortable in Clarion, yet healthy and ready to be sprung to their forever homes! VFA as well as every individual who has a special place in their heart for these wonderfully resilient heroines and heroes want to see them adopted locally. A network of dedicated Tiger Ranch Rescue Support volunteers have called themselves into action to create a website, go door-to-door informing a radius of local businesses and individuals passing by, as well as schedule as many adoption events as possible to find every survivor a home for the holidays, new year, and many more years to come! (We would like to thank this individual in particular!)

The Clarion SPCA is located at 9562 Route 322, Shippenville PA.
Regular Adoption hours are Monday – Saturday, 10am – 5pm, the shelter can be phoned at 814-226-9192.

Be sure to attend the shelter's first holiday adopt-a-thon event and celebration –
this Sunday 6th December, from 12pm-6pm!!
