  In response to urban sprawl and the increased human-wildlife interaction that comes with it, VFA strives to foster a more caring and respectful attitude toward wildlife in the urban environment. Whether the issue concerns raccoons, Canada geese, or deer, we encourage people to find non-lethal, humane ways to resolve situations of human-wildlife conflict. We attempt to educate community leaders to the fact that these humane solutions are also more efficient in providing long-term solutions. This campaign also contains a sub-campaign, Scrap the Trap!, where we are working to end the trapping and killing of wildlife such as raccoons, groundhogs, skunks, and bats in the city of Pittsburgh.
